Description

An original 4th press of PPM in the UK on Parlophone. Matrix 1N/1N. This pressing would have been available in the shops SUMMER 1963 as BEATLEMANIA was in full swing. There's NO 'sold in the UK' statement, but THERE IS 'recording 1st pub' - this equates to 4th press/issue. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has seen a light to moderate level of use. These early copies were built to last and this copy plays exceedingly well. Expect a few light marks, and a couple of superficial trails, per side. But I can guarantee any prospective buyer - nothing that gets close to the audio. Remember that this is an AUDIO grading. Don't expect the record to look mint - it WILL have a few marks [guaranteed]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback without reservation. Playback is of a very high standard - one that totally belies its relative age. Just a warm clean delivery of some terrific audio - a total treat. Intro and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Anything detrimental...>>? Well, all I could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. CLEAN - consistently. Difficult to find fault really. Even the lower-key tracks play really nice and clean. It's a top-grader... don't hang around on this one...
Cover (Ex-) A beautiful front - very few look this good. Very nice and flat without wear - one crease in the top left corner. The rear exhibits some slight handling, but is looking way better than most specimens from this period. Note there's a HMV agent record stamp - and a small inscription over at the opening. There's edge wear, but it's mostly pretty minor.. just a bit at the corners. All flip-backs are secure and intact. The spine is in excellent order with all text perfectly legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity thanks, in part, to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Ex) Totally unaged - very unusual indeed. There are no splits. Rather impressive.
