Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me LP
This is an original 1963 UK mono pressing.
Yellow/black labels, Recording First Published credit, no 'Sold in UK' text, Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve. I believe this is what's known as the 5th pressing, dating from mid-1963.
Sleeve has light wear to edges & spine and some mild laminate creasing. Some wear along the opening, with a small missing divot and a neatly repaired 1.5" tear. There's a 1cm tear at the bottom of the opening. There's traces of a name having been written at the top of the front cover. Rear is pretty clean, with a small part of the lower flipback missing.
Original "Emitex" inner is present and in nice condition.
Record is in nice condition. There's a few hairlines if studied closely but nothing that affects play. A few spindle marks around the centre hole and a name written in ballpoint on Side 1 label, but you only really see it if held to the light. It plays well with no issues, particularly on a mono set-up as intended - based on audio alone, it's VG+.
I've graded cautiously and tried to call out (and picture) every last flaw but, honestly, it's a pretty decent copy overall, better than the majority of those I've handled.
