Description
The Beatles Please Please Me Stereo LP PCS 3042
Very first UK Yellow & Black - Stereo pressing with the small extra "Gold Label" 33 1/3.
Considered an essential addition to any Beatles collection and rarer than the preceding Gold Stereo as only a few of these were ever pressed.
Two small runs with this being the first with the sort after 1M stampers on side 1 and 1G on side 2.
A 1G stamper indicates one of the first few hundred of the press and is usually reserved for Gold label pressings. These labels were quickly replaced and a full summary of labels can be found on my website beatlebay uk.
No purchase tax code on these issues, as can be seen it is a lovely piece of vinyl, and has probably only been played a few times.
Playback is fantastic apart from a few ticks on "Misery" and later a tick or two on "Boys".
Labels as can be seen as very clear and bright with minimal whitening at the center hole.
Comes with a 1st edition "Gold Sleeve" and is complete in a nice presentable condition along with an EMITEX inner (not shown).
Third press or 1st Yellow and Black Parlophone label, this has the additional very small 33 1/3 which was left over from the gold labels (near the center hole).
With this STEREO edition being far rarer than it's MONO little brother, these elusive labels are even rarer the "Northern Songs" golds, and for many years went unnoticed until recently.
There were two pressing runs used for this edition 1M / 1G & 1P / 1G both on or from pressing machine 2, and as of yet no 1O/1G pressings have ever surfaced with this label, though one did appear sporting the 5th press type 1 label!!.
This is my double of this edition so time to sell on.
Priced to sell.
