THIS IS A COLLECTOR'S ITEM, 5th PRESSING 1963, On another website they tell me its worth up to £90
This album is virtually a historical document, light years away from Sargeant Pepper.
I hadn’t played this for 50 years, there are a few crackles, but I was amazed how good it sounds through my Naim/PMC system, even though I played it lot at the time.
The title track was The Beatles first number one in February 1963, Love Me Do was their first release on Parlophone in 1962. George sings on Do You Want to Know a Secret, while Ringo sings a track called Boys, a song I’ve never heard anywhere else. The final track is John shouting and croaking his way through Twist and Shout, when his voice was giving out after a heavy day singing in Abbey Road The sleeve is slightly discoloured with age, and there are minor marks on and a couple of small tears on the rear.
All my records are sent out with proper insurance, signed for delivery and a proper cardboard sleeve for maximum security. The reason I am selling is that I’m going to sell my turntable, now I’m a pensioner I can’t be bothered to get up and change the side every twenty minutes. I’ve recorded them onto my computer and still play the same music through my hi-fi with the incomparable sound of vinyl music.
