Description
The Beatles Please Please Me LP, PMC 1202 Mono, 3rd pressing, summer 1963.
It is the first pressing on it is black-yellow Parlophone label. Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated cover, with large “mono” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print, but without “Recording first published 1963?. Side 1: XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-1N.
The front cover is very good with minor creasing and a small stain in the bottom right hand corner where the text, "photo: Angus Mcbean" is.
The top and bottom edges are scuffed and pealing as are the corners, but the spine is good with no scuffs.
The back cover is good. It has a brownish mark running along the bottom flip back caused by the use of celotape at some point. The reason for this celotape is a tear running a the flipback line. The old tape has decayed and come away but i have places a 2 1/2 inch strip back on the tear so as to prevent further tearing. There are some minor marks on the back which you would expect from a 50 year old album. On the top right hand corner by the pmc 1202 text is 3 letters and 4 numbers written in pen.
The vinyl itself is very good. It naturally has scratching to both sides but other than the normal crackling noises during the silent bits it sounds good. There is no sticking or jumping. The vinyl labels are very good with no stickers or writing.
The inner sleeve appears to be original, it is white with thin polythene over the cut out holes. This does have creasing and also an inch half tear off the centre on one side. It has the letters and numbers written in pen the same as the back cover.
Thats about it, i think i have covered everything,
thanks for looking.

There is also a 3 1/2 inch tear on the inner sleeve working out from the hole, next to the smaller tear previously mentioned.
