The Beatles RARE ACETATE How Do You Do It 1962

Over the next few months I will be listing several very rare and historic Beatles acetates all from the same collection.

This is one of the most historic Beatles records you will ever find an eBay.  This rare Emidisc 45 Acetate is from the Beatles very first recording session with Ringo on September 4, 1962.  And this Acetate is the ultra rare first take!  The more common version (take 2) appears on Anthology 1 and many bootlegs.  This rarest version comes in at 8 seconds shorter than take 2.

George Martin wanted "How Do You Do It" (Mitch Murray) to be the A Side of the Beatles very first single.  However, the Beatles insisted on Love Me Do as the A side (the Ringo version of Love Me Do was also first recorded on September 4, 1962).   The Beatles never released "How Do You Do It".

The record itself is very glossy and has only a few light scratches.  The blank B side has several scratches.  The label is browning from age.  The label has "How Do To Do It" (instead of How Do You Do It) Written on the front.

Note:  I always have RARE Beatles items listed.

Hello, I have had many questions about this acetate and the authenticity. I have been told there is a counterfeit acetate of this song which was taken from the Anthology CD and put to acetate. Today I was finally able to listen to the acetate and the Anthology version of the song simultaneously. I could not detect any difference in the music but the vocals are just a bit different sounding. The biggest difference is that on the Anthology CD John sings "Wish I knew how you do it to me but I haven't a clue, Wish I knew how you do it to me, I'd do it to you . . ." at the end of the song. On this acetate John sings only "Wish I knew how you do it to me, I'd do it to you". So far I have found a few "other versions" of this song but this acetate is the only one that leaves out the "but I haven't a clue" line at the end of the song. Hope this information helps. Thank you.

Hello, I have been contacted by another eBay member who told me that the counterfeit version acetate of this song has only one (spindle) hole and the same song is on each side. The original version should have 2 holes and a blank back. I've added a photo to show that this acetate does have the second hole and the back is blank. Thank you to all who have help me gather information on this one.
