You are bidding for a rare mono FIRST 1966 pressing of ''Revolver'' vinyl LP by The BEATLES
Background :- (*) This album is believed to be an original first pressing of Revolver. Why do I claim this? Well having compared the record with other informed ''record dealer'' listings at around £500, this record has all the correct indications that it is indeed a first pressing (Dr Robert on sleeve, and Doctor Robert on disc label. It has the Song/Composer/Lead vocalist sequence on the label and sleeve, and the correct contemporary Matrix info. It has the KT taxcode etched either side of the spindle hole on side 1, etc. Much of this changed on later pressings.
NOTE: - I am gradually selling off the remnants of my lifelong vinyl collection, as I neither need it or play it. I am NOT a dealer, but will endeavour to describe the condition of each record in 'layman's' terms. I have sold many records from my collection over the last 2 years or so, and have never had any issues with my description from buyers wherever they may be. I tend to be conservative in my descriptions. (Please check feedback - 100% !!)
The record. - Mono 1966 first pressing, XEX 605-2, on side one, and XEX 606-2 on the other with original Parlophone yellow label. There are two other etched engravings of RLL on the side 1 run-out and and RHR on side 2. There are a few spindle marks around hole side 2, but nothing too unsightly. The vinyl is in good condition for the age. There are some surface scratchings and markings, but nothing that makes the record look like it's been played with the end of a compass!! At the end of the day, this is a vintage record almost 50 years old, and some surface static and noise should be expected. I do not claim that the record is in ''mint'' condition. It isn't..... If it were, I'd be expecting a lot of money for it.
The Sleeve: - basically sound, although showing some very signs of ageing. Some scuffing to the edges and corners, but spine clear and readable. Small tear along bottom right hand of sleeve, where sleeve open, just below George's Chin...!! Garrod & Lofthouse print.
The Inner:- Very good condition polythene lined. Some age discolouration.
Payment:- Paypal only. Will pack securely in bubblewrap/cardboard. Will send Royal mail second class with proof of postage unless instructed and agreed otherwise with the buyer (UK destinations). This depends on what it makes I guess) I Will post internationally at buyers risk and agreed cost.
