Description
I am continuing to downsize my vinyl collection and have listed more Beatles and Beatles-related LPs. So, please check out my other auctions for something that may interest you.
In this auction:
· “RARITIES” by The Beatles
· This LP is Capitol Records SHAL - 12060.
· This is a STEREO Pressing.
· The LP in this auction is a FIRST PRESSING. It was issued March 24, 1980.
· It is NOT the later pressing that was released in 1985.
· We know that the LP in this auction is a FIRST PRESSING because:
1) The Beatles photo on the front cover is embossed.
2) There are text errors in the rear cover liner notes:
A. Liner notes incorrectly state that “There’s A Place” had not been released in stereo in the U.S. before.
B. Liner notes credit John instead of Ringo with the blisters remark at the end of “Helter Skelter”.
C. Liner notes are missing the George Martin production credits.
· These liner notes errors were corrected for the 1985 pressing.
· The front cover Beatles photo is not embossed on the 1985 pressing
· This LP has custom black rainbow labels mimicking the classic Capitol mid-1960s labels.
· The gatefold cover has the un-cropped BUTCHER PHOTO inside.
· This LP comes with its original custom photo inner sleeve. This custom sleeve has some writing at the top inside the sleeve. This custom sleeve has NO seam splits!
· The COVER is graded NEAR MINT MINUS. There is only very light wear on 3 of the corners and a very small corner push on the lower left corner on the rear cover.
· The VINYL is in NEAR MINT CONDITION. A name is written lightly on one label.
NOTE: I recently learned that First First Pressings of this record have "Ed" etched in the trail-off after "MASTERED BY CAPITOL". "Ed" stands for Ed Sanders, the guy who did the mastering for Capitol Records. The record in this auction has "Ed"etched after "MASTERED BY CAPITOL".
A NICE FIRST FIRST PRESSING of this BEATLES LP!!!
