Description
This is the original 1966 pressing of the album "Revolver" by The Beatles on the Parlophone label, catalogue number PMC 7009. Labels have the Gramaphone Company rim and Sold in UK text, with KT tax embossed on label 1. Matrix number Side 1 XEX 605-2, Side 2 XEX 606-1. This is the rarest version of Revolver being the first pressing that was only available for a very short time and replaced with the more common 606-2 matrix for side 2. The difference being the special mix on Tomorrow Never Knows, very collectable. This is an outstanding copy having one light, none sounding scuff on side 1 and a couple of light lines EX, Side 2 is much better having only a couple of light sleeve removal lines and no scratches or scuffs EX++ - NM. The vinyl gleams and retains it's original sheen. The plain white Patents Pending inner is in great shape having no rips, slipts or tears and only very light creases. The Ernest J Day flipback outer sleeve is outstanding, the front retains it's beautifully laminated sheen with no creasing, absolutely beautiful. The rear of the sleeve is beautifully clean, displaying only the faintest sign of ringwear to the opening edge and one restuck flipback on the top right corner, one of the best I have recently seen. This is definately a keeper copy. I am listing a few more similar Beatles albums over the next few days so please see my other auctions.
