Description
This is the original 1st UK pressing of the MONO album "Revolver" by The Beatles on the Parlophone label, catalogue number PMC 7009. Matrix numbers: Side 1, XEX 605-2. Side 2, XEX 606-1. Stampers Side 1, GM @ 3 O'clock, 1@ 9 O'clock. Side 2, GR @ 3 O'clock, 2 @ 9 O'clock. Side 2 has the embossed KT tax stamp. Labels are in beautiful condition showing only minor spindle lines each side. Vinyl side 1 retains it's sheen and shows only very light lines, no scratches. Side 2 is in similar condition, however, this record has been looked after by an inexperienced record collector who thought he was doing the right thing by storing it in polythene for the last 30 years. This has resulted in some pattern dulling to the vinyl, particularly on side 2. This does not sound in any way but does detract from the expected beautiful sheen one would normally expect. Those with professional cleaning machines maybe able to remaove this but I cannot guarantee it so it is sold with the poly pattern.
The record plays beautifully with crystal clarity and very little if any background noise. Due to the marks mentioned, I can only grade as VG+ but a great one at that.
The Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve is in an outstanding EX+++ condition (Outstanding example).
The original Patents Pending white inner is also in great shape with no splits or tears.
A great example that would have graded an outstanding excellent.
