Description
An original genuine 1st mono press of Revolver with TNK alternative mix. Matrix 2/1 - very 1st cut possible in mono and this denotes the original mix of TNK which was superceded early in the pressing run. Please note the labels hold the abbreviated 'Dr. Robert' also indicative of an early pressing. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the correct 'patents applied for' generic white inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+) Has seen a moderate level of use, but remains in very decent condition. Do expect a few marks either side, with one or two small marks just getting feelable - but nothing heavy or epic looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. For the most part expect a very decent and relatively clean rendition. But we do have a couple of deviations from this level....please be aware there is noticeable interference in 'Eleanor Rigby'. There's a few spots of distortion - it's not a write-off by any means, but this track is performing sub-par. We also detected a brief non-repeating skip in Rigby which results in the loss of the line 'lives in a dream' from the vocal. And a brief skip at the end of 'Love to You' and a couple of pops at the start of Good Day Sunshine. So, do weigh this up in the round....It's a great little player barring those few, relatively brief deviations.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has clearly been cared for. Shiny white front with only a modicum of ageing at the extremities. The rear, often the problem area, looks very nice with only light handling evident. Edge wear is pretty light and the spine is pretty much intact. The text on the spine is legible still. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A two inch split top left edge. And a couple of tiny ones. Otherwise aok.
