Description

The Beatles – Revolver, Parlophone PMC 7009, 1966 mono vinyl album.

Second pressing. Although a second pressing this is a still a very early copy as the first pressing only lasted for about a month before being withdrawn.

Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 605-2; Side 2: XEX 606-2.

VINYL sound: VG++. Test play revealed no skips, sticks or clicks. Deep full sound - has clearly not been played for some years and sound quality throughout shows very little evidence of distortion.

VINYL visual: VG/VG+. Some surface marks and light scratches (see photos) but nothing that you can hear or which affects the sound quality.

LABELS:  EX. Yellow Parlophone logo on black label with silver print. There were three label variations with the 2nd pressing - this is label variation B: Times New Roman font, a new layout design most notably with side 1 having both “Taxman” and “Eleanor Rigby” on the first line. It also displays the incorrect Dr. Robert spelling on side 2. The credits pattern of “Song (Composer)-Lead Singer” has also now switched to “Song-Lead Singer (Composer)”. This appeared in late 1966. A fair few spindle marks but otherwise clean, clear, undamaged labels.

SLEEVE: VG+/VG++. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated flipback cover. Structurally sound with a little light laminate creasing here and there. A little yellowing in the white areas that is usual on original copies of Revolver. Owner’s name written in biro on left side of front cover.
