THE BEATLES ~ REVOLVER / RECORD CLUB ISSUE (1969)
RARE COVER VARIATION WITH A BLACK BORDER AND 3 WHITE DIAGONAL RECORD CLUB STRIPES
RIAA 16 (LONGINES / JACKSONVILLE) ON THE BACK COVER
THE ADDED PREFIX “8” IN THE CATALOG NUMBER
Incredibly rare version of The Beatles’ album “Revolver” pressed in approximately 1969~1971 for Capitol Record Club. Factory sealed copy with a very rare unique cover version manufactured specifically for Capitol Record Club containing a black border with 3 white diagonal stripes. The majority of copies of this issue have a more common cover version with a white border and 3 black diagonal stripes. The stripes located in the upper left-hand corner are an identifier of the Record Club issue and make this cover unique. The “8” prefix was added to the catalog number of this issue ST 8 – 2576. Depending on the pressing date, this copy might contain several label variations, including the multi-colored Capitol Records label or the green “target” label. This copy might also contain the incredibly rare “Longines Symphonette Society” mail-order labels. Even though the back cover contains the RIAA 16 number and identifies this issue as a Jacksonville plant pressing, this copy might also have been pressed at the DECCA pressing plant.
