Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul - (EX)1965 UK Mono 1st Release -4/-4 Serif - PMC 1267.
Vinyl: This Second pressing features the Yellow/Silver Parlophone label and has the runout matrixes XEX 579-4 / XEX 580-4. The matrix number is also printed on the label, misaligned to the date stamp. The 'KT' tax code is stamped on the centre label of side two. Both labels are printed in the 'Roman' style serif typeface.
Sleeve: The laminated flipback sleeve was manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd and has the words 'TRADE MARK OF THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD.' under the Parlophone logo.
Inner sleeve: Tracing-rice-paper-lined die-cut sleeve.
Vinyl Grading: Excellent (EX) - no visible scratches anywhere, just the odd very light hairline when held up to strong light. This has obviously been well looked after as the audio quality is fantastic.
Sleeve Grading: Very Good Plus (VG+) - in great condition given it's age. Slightly grubby with a little shelf wear/creasing. The spine however is nice and clear. I'm not sure if the inner sleeve is original (please see photo). It has short splits on both sides, but not the bottom edge.
Matrix / Runout (Side 1): XEX 579-4 14 RMD Matrix / Runout (Side 2): XEX 580-4 43 GTT I can't quite make out the numbers (not in bold above) which are at 9 o'clock on the runout, but this is my best guess.
