Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
This fatantist copy of the Beatles' fourth studio album is a UK first pressing, the so-called 'loud-cut', on the yellow and black Parlophone label. The labels feature the extremely rare Times New Roman (TNR) syntax font on the labels that was only available for a very short run of first pressing vinyl.
The vinyl is housed within the original front-side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve.
The album is complete with the original polythene lined EMItex die-cut inner sleeve.
Serial number: PMC 1267
Matrix number: XEX 579 - 1 / XEX 580 - 1
Stamper codes: 4 ML / 1 GH
Vinyl Weight: 170g
Condition:
Vinyl: VERY GOOD +
Labels: EXCELLENT
The labels are bright and clean. Only very light spindle marks can be seen to both sides.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Superb 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces. A single non-sounding mark can be noticed to both sides. In addition, subtle paper scuffs can be seen in strong daylight. A really strong example.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +
The record is a great listen. As is so often the case with this pressing the audio is 'loud'. As such there is a lack of distinction to the background of tracks that the observant ear can pick up that becomes most noticeable in 'Michelle'. Please note, this is not due to groove/play wear but is a symptom of the pressing process itself and is one of the reasons John wanted it remastering. It doesn't detract from the listening experience, the audio is very accurately a VG+ (other than Michelle) but please don't expect a perfect record!
Sleeve: VERY GOOD +
The sleeves looks superb. The front retains a glossy finish with bright colours. The rear is exceptionally clean. The flip-backs are all in-tact. All four corners show subtle softening. The opening edges, top and bottom edges, and square spine are all without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: VERY GOOD +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is very clean with no tears, writing or seam splits. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
