Description

An original 1st press of RS on UK Parlophone. Very earliest RS copies went out with a 1/1 matrix and are referred to as 'Loud Cut' copies. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with exposed flipbacks. We also have an original Emitex inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side. On side 1 there's a small semi-feelable mark which does sound momentarily [see detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. This is a really very fine playing original 1st of RS.. very nice. Very nice and clean throughout - not perfect.. but way better than what typically surfaces. That mark mentioned above is midway through 'Norwegian Wood' - you'll get 3-4 ticks...there's another 5 ticks in 'GIRL'. Neither are that big a deal. This copy plays clean into some of those fussier moments. Michell is often god awful.. but this example is playing it pretty clean.. with just an occasional crackle. That is pretty impressive. In fact, it plays pretty clean into most of the lower key moments - which is unusual. Expect a few crackles in one isolated spot per side. But by and large it is certainly one of the better loud cuts I've witnessed.
Cover (Vg) Not up to the preservation levels of the vinyl - but still a very solid and respectable example. Lovely clean, flat and uncreased front...not far of perfect. The downside is that the rear has succumbed to the ageing process - it has tanned. There's a sticker removal mark in the top left. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is slight and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Emitex (Vg+) A bit of ageing. But no splits.
