The Beatles - Rubber Soul
After a long hiatus, I am pleased to offer for sale this fantastic collection of Italian Beatles releases.
For sale in this listing is eighth LP released by the The Beatles in Italy, Rubber Soul. Released in Italy in December 1965 the album features the same cover art to the front of the sleeve as the UK release but an alternative rear image - a picture of the four members of the band.
The album was the first Dischi Parlophon Beatles record in which the first release feature the black and silver labels.
As well as looking fantastic, the quality of the Italian records are second to none in my opinion. The sleeves are well made being laminated on both sides and glued thoroughly. The records are produced using heavy-weight vinyl and cut using precision equipment.

The matrix numbers suggest that the record was produced using the first pressing plates sent to Italy. Consequently the audio reproduction is superb - take a listen below.
The black and silver Dischi Parlophon labels are the first variant.
The laminated sleeve is the first variant.
The album is complete with the original transparent plastic inner sleeve - uniquely identified by the lapel to the opening edge.

Vinyl: EXCELLENT -
Labels: Excellent
The labels are clean, bright and without any writing. Both sides have a small number of visible spindle marks.
Visual: Excellent
The vinyl retains beautiful deep gloss playing surfaces. In bright daylight several light marks can be seen to the surface of the record. None are feel-able. Under the glare of a halogen desk lamp only a handful of wispy hairlines can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow shine.
Audio: Very Good + / Excellent

Side 2:
As can be heard in the audio clips, the audio is great. I have split the grading as side 2 is much improved on side 1. There is no sign sign of groove or play wear so the light static that is audible throughout side 1 may simply be dust residue. I will clean the record another couple of times and see if this improve things. That being said, the static does not intrude on the listening experience. Side 2 is a much cleaner sound. Otherwise, the record is an enjoyable listen. As with all mono cuts the bass is punchy and the vocals are clear.
Sleeve: Excellent +
The sleeve looks superb. Both the front and rear are exceptionally clean. The laminate retains the original lustre. The cover art is vibrant, showing no sign of colour fade. The bottom right hand being slightly softened but the other three are crisp and sharp. The square spine with pinched ends is without damage and the writing is fully legible. The top, bottom and opening edges are all without wear. The only negative is a crease to the top left-hand corner as you look at the front.
Inner Sleeve: Excellent
The original inner sleeve is in remarkable condition. As is to be expected, creasing is visible to the plastic. However, there are no splits, tears or holes anywhere in the sleeve. Great.
Additional Details:
Before the audio test and recording the vinyl was cleaned using a three step method using an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner and an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After being cleaned, the record is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The record is packaged outside of the sleeve. Both the sleeve and the record are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
