Condition
Sleeve: VG+
A very presentable original 1965 Ernest J. Day & Co. laminated flipback sleeve. The front retains excellent colour and strong original laminate, with general age-related handling and wear visible around the extremities. The rear shows some age-related discolouration and marking, but remains complete and highly presentable for a nearly 61-year-old original sleeve.
Record: VG visually / VG+ playback
The record displays visible surface marks and signs of previous handling consistent with the visual VG grade. Importantly, it performs above its visual appearance and has been fully play-tested at VG+, delivering strong, enjoyable playback throughout.

Description
Offered here is an original 1965 UK mono first pressing of The Beatles' Rubber Soul, featuring the highly collectible XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1 “Loud Cut” matrices.
These earliest mono copies used the original -1/-1 cut before the album was quickly recut, with subsequent mono copies appearing with -4/-4 matrices. The original version has consequently become known among Beatles collectors as the “Loud Cut.”
This example has all the major characteristics expected of an original UK issue: PMC 1267 catalogue number, black and yellow Parlophone labels, “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter text, “Sold in U.K.” label text and the crucial -1/-1 matrices.
It is housed in an original Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. laminated flipback sleeve and also retains a period Emitex inner sleeve.
The record itself visually grades VG but is considerably stronger where it matters, play-testing at VG+.
