Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl is really nice, it has a great glossy sheen to the surface and sits completely flat with no warping. Beautiful clean labels and fab spindle holes. There are literally a couple of light surface lines, but nothing notable or feelable. EXCELLENT -.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are also EXCELLENT / NR MINT as seem to have been kept inside the gatefold.
The outer GATEFOLD cover is also very good. Has no splits or tears and has retained a lovely vibrant colour. Has age related discolouration/wear to the spine, corners, edges as to be expected for an item of this age.
The often missing Red & White Fool's Swirl Protective Inner is included but has seen better days - seams are taped, has nic's to the top and has some staining.
OVERALL A FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE SET TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION!!!
