Background...

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.

AUDIO. EXCELLENT.

Light surface noise on intro to side 1, and a couple of minor ‘clicks’ into the first track. Other than that, excellent.

Side 2 likewise re the intro, and into the first 20/30 seconds of ‘Within You Without You’.

Again, other than that, superb. Barely a click or pop.

VINYL. EXCELLENT.

The vinyl is in excellent condition. It has a glossy sheen and sits completely flat with no warping. Clean fresh labels with just a little fab spindle ware. There are a couple of light surface marks/hairlines/handling marks, but nothing of significance/feelable.

SLEEVE. EXCELLENT.

The outer GATEFOLD cover is excellent with only minor discolouration/marks to the top corners, and a little more ware to bottom corners. The bottom right corner from the rear view is most adversely affected (see photos). And of course displays the Saught after "WIDE SPINE", that has one crease/scuff across ‘Peppers’, but is otherwise superb.

Front and rear panels have some minor creasing, and the left panel opening has a little feathering. The inner panels are clean, shiny, and unmarked.

CUT-OUTS. MINT

The original dark green 'Peter Blake' cutouts outs are MINT.

‘FOOL’ INNER. NEAR MINT

The original red & white 'Fool's Swirl' inner is great! Has great colour and the correct patent number. No splits or tares. Again, absolutely superb. Perhaps, near mint.
