Description

Here is The Beatles SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND.  It is a Picture Disc from 1978 on Capitol Records # SEAX-11840.  As you can see from the photos side one is a picture of the front cover.  Side two is the drum.  Back in the 1970's and early 80's some record companies tried issuing the Picture Disc.  It was an interesting idea but had one problem.  I had purchased a number of Picture Disc and they all did the same thing.  The vinyl that they used wasn't the best quality.  You can hear pops and clicks from the lead-in groove, in between the songs, and the lead-out groove.  But I have the admit in this case, the sound quality of this LP really is quite better than the original Sgt Pepper that I bought when it first came out in 1968 which sounded rather muddy to me.  Dispite the pops and clicks this really does sound better than the original vinyl (in my opinion anyway).  It even mentions in fine print on the back cover "Sound Quality may not be comparable to conventional edition".  So they knew it too but released it anyway.  Hmmm.  Interesting.  Anyway, the cover to this disc is in mint-like condition.  The corners are sharp, the spine is in excellent condition, and it still has the original cellophane on it.  This is indeed a great addition to any Beatles collection.
