Description
** We have recently acquired a nice collection of Beatles albums and singles, all originally purchased by the same person when the records were released. Please feel free to check our other Beatles auctions, there are some nice early pressings and Fan Club Christmas singles as well. We always combine shipping costs! **
The seventh photograph on this auction shows all eight Beatles albums that we are currently auctioning, this is to give you an idea of the condition of the sleeve spines, which are generally excellent. This auction if for just one of those albums:
Artist : THE BEATLES
LP Title : Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Label : Parlophone / PMC 7027 / 1967 / MONO
Matrix Numbers : XEX 637-1 [stampers 3 , GLD] / YEX 638-1 [stampers 3 , GRP]
Notes : Early 1st Mono Pressing, black & yellow Parlophone labels, with 'The Gramophone Co.' text around label rims and 'Sold In UK...' text in label centres, a 'K T ' tax code is embossed on the side-1 label, fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve with top flipbacks visible inside the gatefold, original red & white 'psych' inner sleeve and colour cut-out sheet.
Condition : The vinyl is EX+ with a couple of insignificant hairline marks visible when held up to the light, it plays really well with a lovely clear warmth of sound with only minor evidence of static in places.
The labels are clean and unworn with only very minor signs of spindle marking to the centres. The original psychedelic red & white inner sleeve shows some light creasing/marking from use. The cardboard 'cut-outs' sheet insert is completely intact with no creasing, wear or marking.
The outer sleeve is very clean and glossy with only minor signs of corner rubbing and only the tiniest evidence of any wear down the rear opening edge, there are a couple of very small laminate lines near to the spine, and a visible line down the centre of the spine where the gatefold has been opened and closed.
A very nice example of this classic Beatles album.
Unless otherwise noted above, vinyl grading is visual only - please ask if you require any further information or extra photographs.
