No doubt, one of the ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, The Beatles ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone, UK on the 1st June 1967. It went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks wow!
Album Description and Condition:
This FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both record labels are in impressive Excellent Plus condition, a very clean set of record labels, with NO handwriting or fading to the bold Yellow or Silver Printed text, and just light signs of play to the centre spindle holes on both record labels.
Side 1 stamped matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 2 RMP and Side 2: 4 RDT.
There is an embossed KT Tax Code visible on the side 1 record label.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are in well cared for superb undamaged Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, beautiful bright vinyl surfaces, with just a few light surface hairlines.
The LP plays with superb sound quality from beginning to end, very powerful, with a clear mono sound quality, with NO clicks, NO skips.
The Vinyl LP comes in it’s ORIGINAL,Pink&White Flame Inner Bag which is in Excellent Minus condition, there is a 3” seam split to the bottom edge, mild creases and hand written title on one side of the bag.
And included it’s ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, which is in SUPERB, UNDAMAGED Near Mint condition.
…..And is protected in it’s ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back gatefold Sleeve printed ‘PMC 7027 Mono’ to the reverse, at the top right corner.
The sleeve is in superb clean and undamaged Excellent Plus condition, it still retains its high gloss laminate to the front, inner gatefold and reverse, with NO fading to the colours, and hardly any signs of the usual record indentation, there are NO seam splits to any of the edges, and only a couple of very mild corner bumps.
The inside of the Gatefold Sleeve is in perfect Near Mint condition, with the two internal fold over flaps perfect. The spine edge wording 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' is clearly legible.
This is a very well cared for example of an original 1967 mono SGT Pepper album, in superb condition, and 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE.
