No doubt, one of the most ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone, UK on the 1st June 1967. The album went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
This FIRST ISSUE STEREO VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels labels.
Side 1 stamped matrix: YEX 637-1 and Side 2: YEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3 MA and Side 2: 2 M.
There is an embossed KT Tax Code visible on the side one record label.
Both record labels are in impressive undamaged Mint Minus condition, an ultra clean set of record labels, with NO handwriting or fading to the bold Yellow or Silver Printed text, with just a few light centre spindle lines to each label.
Both sides of the superb vinyl disc are in stunning Mint Minus condition, LOOKING VISUALLY MINT, beautiful bright gleaming vinyl surfaces. This vinyl disc is another one clearly been very well cared for, the disc is almost faultless with the exception of one or two surface hairlines, there are NO scuffs or deep scratches.
Audio Quality:
The album plays beautifully from beginning to end - A CLEAR, STRONG, FRESH, STEREO sound quality with NO clicks, NO skips, no crackle, a truly superb Stereo Sound Quality.
The Vinyl Disc comes in it’s ORIGINAL, Pink & White Flame Inner Bag, and also includes the original Sgt Pepper cut-out. The flame inner bag is in Excellent condition, the bag has a 2” seam split at the bottom, and just light creasing. The Sgt Peeper cut-out is in Mint Minus condition.
…..And is protected in it’s ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Stereo Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve printed ‘PCS 7027 Stereo’ to the reverse.
The front and reverse of the sleeve are in Near Mint condition, both front and reverse panels still retains their high GLOSS laminate shine, with just a couple of small manufacturing laminate pinches to the front.
The inside Gatefold part of the Sleeve is in as new Mint condition, and is as new.
The spine edge wording clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.
A stunning example of this original first issue 1967 Stereo Album, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE, with superb sound quality.
