THIS RARE VARIANT IS MISSING THE TITLE FOR JOHN LENNON’S SONG, A DAY IN THE LIFE, ON THE SIDE 2 RECORD LABEL!
No doubt, one of the Iconic albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by E.M.I./Parlophone, UK on the 1st June 1967. The album went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
This 1967 original UK Parlophone mono LP is officially documented as a mispressing without the song title, A Day In The Life and is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, both labels are clean with no handwriting or fading to the printed text, and just a few very light centre spindle lines.

Side 1 matrix, XEX 637-1.
And Side 2, XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers. 3 7 M R R. and Side 2, 2 D R M.
Both vinyl surfaces in very nice Excellent condition – very clean surfaces to both sides, with no deep scratches or scuffs, showing nothing more than just a few light surface hairlines.
The album plays as good as it looks great sound quality throughout the tracks.
The Vinyl LP comes in its correct white inner record bag, which is in Excellent condition, and includes an original SGT Pepper Unused and Undamaged Cut-Out which is Near Mint condition.
And is protected in it’s original First Issue, Fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip-back Gate-fold Sleeve printed ‘PMC 7027 mono’ to the reverse.
This is a beautiful sleeve in Near Mint condition, the sleeve still retains its deep gloss laminate to the front, reverse, and inner gate-fold. There is NO fading to the colours, and there is only very mild record indentation to the reverse where the LP has been stored. There are no seam splits to any of the edges.
The gate-fold centre of the sleeve looks as new condition, still smells new, and the two internal fold over flaps are perfect..
The spine edge is super clean and white and clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
The reverse panel is almost perfect with the exception of a small laminate crease at the bottom left corner.
A really Fine example of one of the most talked about albums of the 20th Century, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE example, with the rarer side 2 Day In The Life label error.
