SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, REPLACED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL IN 1969, RARE TITLE, NICE EXAMPLE
In 1969, for the FIRST TIME since 1963, PARLOPHONE/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a one EMI box logo. This one EMI box logo is printed to the bottom portion of each record label.
The album was issued with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1967, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. (Please note that the Vinyl weight is the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1967 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as the original 1967 version.
Both record labels are in Mint Minus condition, showing only a couple of light centre spindle lines.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in beautiful Mint Minus condition – super clean Vinyl surfaces, showing only one or two very light surface hairlines.
Side 1 Matrix is: YEX 637-1 and side 2: YEX 636-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3 GPG and Side 2: 4 GPP.
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks.
The Vinyl LP comes in an EMI advertising inner record bag which is in undamaged condition, and includes a Mint condition unused SGT Pepper cut-out.
….And is housed in its ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE STEREO Gatefold Picture Sleeve with two internal flip backs to the inside, and **stereo** wording on the reverse, with the same artwork and style as the original 1967 release.
The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Sleeve is in Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, the front and reverse of the sleeve are very glossy with no fading, all edges and corners are superb, the inner gatefold part of the sleeve is in Near Mint condition, the spine edge is perfect.
A nice example of this BRIEFLY ISSUED 1969 EMI/PARLOPHONE, UK Release. HARD TO FIND title on this ONE EMI BOX label format!
