CPCS103
This album was manufactured in the UK and issued in stereo only for export to continental Europe. The track listing is identical to the US-issued album on Capitol Records that bears the same name, and contains a mix of 'Thank you Firl' that did not appear officially elsewhere.
The Garrod and lofthouse flipback cover is intact but shows some folding and laminate cracks to all three closed edges together with some wear to the corners and upper and lower edges close to the record opening. The top left corner shows some folding and the cover overall is not quite flat. The front is quite bright and the laminate has not lifted, although there are a couple of scuff-like punctures that do not really detract from the displayed quality.
The rear has a little age dirt and some significant fingerprints at the sides that have a brownish tinge, togther with the original owner's name written neatly in biro underneath the top flip.
The record labels are crisp and clear on both sides and have no writing. There are spindle marks on both sides at the centre but these have not worn the label away at all. The KT tax code is embossed into side 1 but not side 2. Side 1 also has a verfy fin white line, possibly from a scratch that could be tinted in.
The vinyl surface on both sides shows fine lines but no significant deep scratches to affect play. There are a couple of 'spiral' marks on side 1 that are barely 'feelable' and a small oval patch on side 2, but neither of these affect play in any audible manner.
The record has been play tested all the way through on a Technics SL 1200 with stanton 500AL cartridge and plays absolutely superbly. Some light crackle is just audible in between trachs, but inaudible during the music packages. The recording is quite brilliant and suffers from detectable wear or distortion to the ears and is, therefore in exceptional playing condition.
