This is the version of the 1st pressing which immediately followed the "4th Proof Sleeve" test version of the 1st pressing.
It has "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." printed on the label.

This copy is in astonishingly good condition. Visually it is excellent, with just faint hairline marks here and there upon closer inspection. There is a tiny mark that causes two light pops during the first crescendo of "A Day In The Life". Aside from this the sound clarity and the overall freshness of the pressing on both sides is breathtaking, and the silence between songs is for the most part just that: silence.
Cover: VG+
Overall the cover is in excellent condition. There are a few tiny spots evident on the front and inner gatefold covers, and along the flaps where the front cover wraps into the inner gatefold. Please see photos for more detail of this. The corners, and 'inner corners' of the inner seam of the gatefold, have very slight rubbing.
This is a wide-spine variant. The spine is in very good shape and condition, with just a tiny crease in the laminate in the area where the text is printed. See photo for more detail.
Sleeve: VG-
The inner sleeve is the original "Fools" variant, and is in very good overall condition. It has a few light age marks, a small (2cm) tear at the seam near the opening (see photo), and a 3-inch split at the bottom which allows the record through a small amount.
Insert: NM
The cut-out insert card is near mint. No flaws to be seen at all.
