Description
The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This is the first 1967 mono issue pressed at Capitol Records' Los Angeles pressing plant as distinguished by the '✲' (asterisk) in the dead wax. Etching in dead wax as follows:
Side 1) MAS-1-2653-F-11 1 ✲ 2 Side 2) MAS-2-2653-F-3 1 ✲ 2
This issue is also identified by the early label 'errors' as follows: -A2 title "A Little Help From My Friends"
-A7 title includes exclamation point on the rear cover, but no exclamation point on the label.
-B4 title includes comma on the rear cover, but no comma on the label.
-B5 shown as "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Reprise" on the label (no parenthesis).
Does not have NEMS or Maclen Music credits on the back, lower right corner.
This particular copy is in strong VG+ condition. Cover is colorful, strong and sturdy with only minor signs of shelf wear. No tears, seam splits or writing.
Vinyl is very clean and lustrous with few minor signs of surface wear. Play-tested on a Technics SL1200 with Ortofon cartridge. Great sound quality with little to no surface noise!
Also includes original inner sleeve and insert.
