For sale is an original 1967 UK first stereo pressing of
The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
This is a genuine first UK stereo pressing with both -1 matrix numbers.
Pressing Details:
• UK 1967 Stereo pressing
• Catalogue: PCS 7027
• Yellow & Black Parlophone labels
• “Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions…” text
• Rim text: “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.”
• No EMI box on label
• Fully laminated gatefold sleeve
• Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.
Matrix numbers:
• YEX 637-1
• YEX 638-1
Both sides are the original first stereo lacquers.
Includes:
• Original psychedelic red inner sleeve
• Original cut-out insert sheet
Condition:
Sleeve: VG
Noticeable edge wear, corner wear and laminate creasing consistent with age. Structurally solid with no major splits. Please see photos.
Vinyl: VG
Surface marks and hairlines visible under strong lighting consistent with play. No obvious deep gouges observed. Visually graded. Playback not fully tested.
Inner Sleeve & Insert:
Original red psychedelic inner and cut-out insert are included. Insert is excellent
This is a true UK 1967 first stereo pressing (-1/-1), not a later EMI reissue.
Increasingly hard to find complete with original insert and inner sleeve.
