Description

The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band PMC 7027 XEX 637-1 / XEX 638-1

This is a genuine first UK press, with 'The Gramophone Company....' and 'Sold in the UK.....'. The correct KT tax code is either side of the spindle hole. The mother and stamper numbers are as follows: side 1 - a number 1 at the nine o'clock position and what appears to be GC at three o'clock; side 2 - number 3 for the mother and a clear R for the stamper. Garrod and Lofthouse printing credit but no patents pending. Day In The Life IS credited on both sleeve and label.

Condition for cover, vinyl and inner sleeve is G+. Sleeve has age wear to opening, corners and bottom. No major tears, taping or other defects. Vinyl has lots of visible light scuffs/scratches plus two or three larger ones each side. it has been played and plays through both sides with only the odd click and some light hiss between tracks. The heavy grade vinyl used by EMI has stood up well. There is no card inner present. The original 'Fool' inner is also in reasonable condition, with some creasing and a 3" tear to one edge. No tape or repairs. The labels show some spindle wear but nothing serious (see photo).

As with all our auctions bidding starts at just a pound. Please contact us with any questions you may have and good luck if you decide to bid.
