Description
Up for auction is a very rare, and perhaps the very best, copy of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band available on vinyl. This is the famous Japanese "red wax" vinyl mono LP, catalog EAS-70137, released by Toshiba/EMI. As most Beatles aficianados know, you haven't heard Sgt. Peppers until you've heard it in mono, and as far as I'm concerned, you haven't heard it in mono until you've heard this record. I've heard a lot of mono Peppers and I've never heard a better one than this one. Japanese virgin vinyl is whisper quiet and the sound will just blow the roof off your place. Truly astounding.
If you've been looking for this record, or are looking for one in top condition, this will be the one for you. The jacket cover I rate as MINT minus, practically new/perfect. There are no creases, scratches, scuffs, or bends/tears. It is as stiff as it is when it was new. The colors are rich and not faded. The jacket comes with the original OBI strip, which is also in mint condition. The jacket comes with the original lyric sheet with the lyrics in Japanese.
The red vinyl is also MINT minus condition, as close to perfect as you can get. Upon examination I note no scuffs or scratches whatsoever. I have played this record personally and it played perfectly on both sides.
