Description
An original 1st press of Sgt. Pepper on the UK Parlphone label. Matrix 1/1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod and Lofthouse Mono cover. Also included is the original dark-green cut-outs and the original patents applied for FLAME INNER sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) A truly marvellous looking copy which has only seen the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. There really is no better way to appreciate Pepper than on a clean, well preserved copy. The audio really is very very impressive...and this example is certainly amongst the best I've auditioned. Interference is very minor almost non-existent. All we could detect was a touch of light static momentarily in 'Getting Better' which is a fussy track. Other than that there really is very little to mention at all..and that includes WYWY and WI64 which are very hard tracks to find playing clean. So have no doubt about it, even if you are fussy with your audio, this example is going to knock your socks off and impress you.
Cover (Ex+) It really is in very impressive condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. Just take a look at those images front and back! Early pepper covers really are like a fine piece of art - beautiful bold vivid colours and it's all here preserved to a high level. There's a couple of tiny creases and a couple of light indentations, but very little else at all. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains great rigidity and remains one of the best examples I've ever seen up close.
Cut-outs (Ex+) Pretty much perfect. No issues at all.
Inner (Ex-) Bottom edge split - 1 inch. Hardly any ageing. No marks.
Any purchase is guaranteed to get to you quickly, safely, and with total satisfaction, or your money back.
