Description

Looking for an amazing copy of Pepper, but without shelling out a fortune? Maybe we can help!
If you're fussy on audio and trying to snag a clean playing copy from 67/68 this can set you back major $$$. If you'd like access to a great rendition of Pepper without having to take out a mortgage - there are other avenues open to you.
EMI pressings from '69-'71 were only a couple of years behind those pristine original masters. And EMI pressed at good vinyl weight during this period. Standards were high and they still employed tube-cutting -[standard technique employed in the 60's]. There's no 'digital domain' in this era! It's all full analogue - the perfect way to witness Pepper.
An original Xmas'71 copy by EMI pressed at reasonable weight - not flimsy stock from the mid-70's...Matrix 1/2. "Gramophone" text still present in perimeter. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover with quality lamination. There's also the original cut-outs and a generic white inner from the time. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) Has only seen light use and still exhibits lots of the original lustre. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. If you really want to witness all those trick low-key moments that the Beatles perfected with a totally clean backdrop - this copy is going to get you very close. ALL tracks play really clean - and that includes all the fussy numbers like SLH, ADITL and WYWY. Hardly any background - maybe a couple of crackles in WI64 [minimal]. All I can detect was a couple of slightest ticks in Pepper & LSD. One solitary click at the start of 'My Friends' & One at the end of WI64. This copy is more than capable of getting you 90% there - without a colossal outlay. WYWY & ADITL are literally sublime. And the rest is not far behind!
Cover (Ex) Very smart looking - they don't seem to have skimped too much on print quality by this point [thankfully]. Lovely clean and flat surfaces - just a couple of minor thumbnails. The interior is immaculate. Minimal sign of edge wear. Firm openings. Spine is 100% intact.
Inner (Ex) Unaged. No splits.
Cut-Outs (Ex+) Perfect.
