Description
Original 1st UK pressing of The Beatles groundbreaking “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band” vinyl LP released in 1967
Thin spine sleeve, stereo pressing. Complete with original cut outs and psychedelic inner bag. KT tax code on label. Locked groove playing “psychedelic chatter” on end of side 2 after a day in the life.
Matrix numbers / mothers / stampers
Side 1: YEX 637-1 / 2 / GDA
Side 2: YEX 638-1 / 4 / GDT
Vinyl visually grades VG with light paper scuffs and hairlines when viewed under strong light. None are feelable. It is fully tested and plays a strong VG+ with nice clear audio throughout 99% of the album. A few light crackles heard in the spaces between tracks and a couple of quiet sections but this is genuinely minimal. A couple of soft clicks (3 or 4) again nothing major. Play grade is VG+
The sleeve is VG only. Light edge wear and damage to one corner. Would be better but for a 4” year on the back sleeve. This has been taped from the inside and isn’t too noticeable but is there.(see photos)
The original psychedelic inner bag is a strong VG+ with no rips or tears. A few light creases.
Cut out has some light foxing and 1 small crease. VG+
Overall this is still a decent enough 1st stereo press for playing. It’s not perfect but it’s certainly not bad and a very enjoyable listen.
