Description

UK 1st issue from 1967 with Parlophone Black and Yellow labels.
This is a very early issue. It is a mono version with the wide spine complete with original inner sleeve and a complete cut-out card.
I have fully play-tested both sides using a cartridge (Ortofon VMS 20E Mk II) tracking at 1.5 grammes.
Visually, the disc is in mostly excellent condition. Side 1 is unmarked but Side 2 has some strange circular marks covering the tracks nearest the centre. The good news is that all of Side 1 and the first part of Side 2 play through with no sticks or skips and only minimal, occasional, non-invasive crackle. The even better news is that the remaining tracks on Side 2, where the marks are, also play with no sticks or skips and minimal crackle. There are some very faint clicks from the marks at the start of the last track - if you didn't know the marks were there you might not even notice them - and a little crackle, probably from them, at the quiet part at the end of the track.
The sleeve and all the inners and inserts are in excellent condition.
Were it not for the marks mentioned above I think this record could almost be graded as near mint.
Catalogue no.: PMC 7027
Matrix Side 1: XEX 637-1 3 HA Matrix Side 2: XEX 638-1 35 HD
The stampers details for Side 2 are a bit mystifying. The 3 and the 5 are vertically-aligned in the 9 o/c position (relative to the matrix proper). Usually, you would expect to find only the mother stamper number here. It is unlikely the mother stamper is 35 as this seems much too high and out of kilter with the one on the other side.
