Description
This is a genuine 1967 1st uk pressing as denoted by the cat# the laminated Garrod and Lofthouse cover with flip back glue to inner gatefold; the yellow parlophone and label layout and matrix/runouts xex 637 -1 and xex 638 - 1. Comes with original red psychedelic flames inner but no cut-out.
Due to time constants i no longer have time to listen to much that i list but i thought i have better make an exception in this case and boy was i glad i did.
The vinyl has a couple of light surface marks but plays beautifully. There are no skips/jumps and hardly any b/g noise across the two sides until the last gasp on side 2 where there are a couple of ticks as the song fades out. There is no detectable groove wear on this 51 year old piece of vinyl heaven, with the sound coming through loud, clear and sharp.
The labels are excellent with no rips, or writing and virtually no handling marks.
The laminated gatefold cover is very good with a bit of light creasing here and there but no rips, seam splits or writing. There is a little boxing of the opening edges
The spine is interesting. I cannot say whether it is a narrow or wide spine. Please look at the pics and decide yourself. There is some "spillage" of the front cover image onto the spine towards one end but it doesn't seem as pronounced as on some other wide spine copies.
The original red flame inner is great but has a 1 1/2 inch split on one opening edge seam.
