Description
Welcome to my auctions- I have some interesting records for sale this week, something for all tastes! Please feel free to look through my other items- naturally, I will offer postage discounts for multiple purchases. Any buyer spending over £100 will be eligible for FREE postage, this applies worldwide!
I use “Record Collector's” grading system, with the grading system detailed below. however as I believe records can be graded between “very good” and “excellent”, I will now use “+” or “-” to attempt to catalogue an item precisely.
- Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc...

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
The Beatles- Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band LP- 1969 Mono Press- Mispress Without A Day In The Life
For sale is a mono mispress of Sgt. Peppers, this press DOES NOT LIST “A Day In The Life” on the side 2 label. The sleeve also has a patent pending mark on it, noting “Fourth Proof AR D 13217”. The matrix and stampers also correlate with this issue. It is believed that this edition was printed in small numbers in 1969, because the mistake was corrected quite rapidly.
The laminated, gatefold sleeve with inner flipback glue tabs (where the Fourth Proof patent pending message is) is in Very Good condition. The spine has signs of shelfwear, and there are signs of edgewear and minor creasing, however there are no rips or tears to note. There is sign of sticker residue beneath the catalogue number on the reverse.
The record is housed in the original “Psych” inner- this is in Very Good condition. At some point someone has put their coffee mug on it, which has caused some staining, and there is minor folding and a small tear measuring 2cm on the top left.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. There are a couple of light surface marks, with one or two that look slightly deeper. These, visually, are not that obtrusive, and the record maintains its original shine.
The record PLAYS without any pops, skips or jumps, and there is only surface noise in some of the quieter sections, (perhaps slightly more noticeable in “A Day In The Life”), but the overall listening quality is close to excellent. There is a name written on side 2, but other than that the labels are very clean.
The record is issued on the “Yellow and Black” Parlophone label, it has “THE GRAMOPHONE COMPANY LTD.” around the perimeter, “MADE IN Gt. BRITAIN” at the “6 O Clock” position, and “SOLD IN THE UK” text just below the Parlophone label.

The record comes with the “Sgt. Pepper Cut-outs”, however, I am unsure whether this is original, or has been replaced at some stage with a later, (some say lighter green tone) copy.
