Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
PCS 7027
1st. Press Stereo
Sleeve VG++/VG+
Nice Copy!
This is a nice clean copy of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band '. This is a first UK pressing copy with 1/1 matrices. the vinyl is in really nice condition, there are just some very fine hairlines visible in good light and nothing more and it plays very well with a clear, dynamic sound and just some light 'Click' on side one at the end of track 5 and in the early track 6. No jump! The labels are very clean. The sleeve is in great shape,mainly because the top third of the spine edge has some chewing/scuffing (you can sort of see this in the photos) . Overall a very nice record, one of the better 1st pressings around.
Has dark green apple label, without "Sold in U.K ..." text located on top and "("An E.M.I. Recording")" text located on the left.
Label have "("An E.M.I. Recording")" text on two lines.The left hand side of the label should only have "33 1/3", "Mfd. in U.K." Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p).
Stereo only.
Covers were manufactured by Garrod and Lofthouse.
Album have full laminated cover without flaps on the back side. The inner flap was made from the front cover and glued with paste to the back cover.
The front and back cover photo is somewhat larger than the usual cover, for example - John Lennon is 121mm against 115mm on the standard sleeve.
As a result of this, the trees and pavement on the extreme right hand edge or upper edge are much less visible.
The Apple logo on the back cover is not alignment with the title typography.
"Her Majesty" not listed on both back cover and label.
Some copies have an extremely rare original U.K. promotional poster, printed and issued in 1969 for the "Abbey Road' LP. (maybe)
