Description

Parlophone, PMC 7027, Vinyl LP Album.
UK, 1967, Gatefold, Mono.
Sorry no inserts or correct inner sleeve, which is plain white.
Vinyl, Side 1 is very good +, Side 2 has a couple of bad scratches, played and not as bad as you would expect, just a little crackling at times.
1st Pressing, very very rare early Sleeve.
Matrix Numbers, XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1.

Sleeve is " Fourth Proof " sleeve, very early and very very rare unique sleeve ( According to The Beatles Collection.com ). -----Printed " Fourth Proof " Right Side of Inner Gatefold top right and " AR D1321 " top left.
It represents the earliest possible pressing of The Sgt. Pepper Cover.
The Fourth Proof was the final version of the various prototypes that were explored by The Beatles when the cover was being designed. The cover and the text was approved by The Beatles and an initial very small test run was undertaken to make sure everything looked ok. This small test run is characterised by the inverted " Fourth Proof " text in the top right corner of the inner Gatefold just above George Harrison's head. This is therefore the earliest possible prototype test pressing cover. Same fold-back have can printed text " AR D1321 " which was probably the reference number for the prototype text used.
