Description
For Auction:
The Beatles' Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, vinyl, mono, widespine. 1967.
This is a mono first pressing and the less common "Widespine Sleeve".
The Sleeve:
Considering its age, the widespine sleeve is in very good condition. It has rubbing on the bottom corner and a small tear on the rear (just under 1cm) from years of record removal and insertion (see photos).
The laminate has retained its glossy sheen both externally and the internal gatefold picture of the band.
The spine is in really good condition as the widespine is often susceptible to being crushed, again see photos.
The cardboard insert:
Is in excellent, as good as new condition.
The inner sleeve:
This is the original psychedelic, inner fool sleeve. This has been previously repaired by tape and there is evidence of this at the bottom. There are also tears to both sides. Unfortunately, this is a characteristic of this particular inner and quite common. That said, it absolutely is the original.
The record:
This a mono, first pressing, PMC 7027, xex.637-1 and xex.638-1.
Unlike a lot of sellers who will try and describe a 54 year old record as hardly played...this record has been played...it has scuffs and marks that you would expect. These do not cause the record to jump or skip, but there is crackle. It would most likely benefit from a clean.
Please see my photos, i am not a record dealer, just a Beatles' fan, so i have tried to be as honest and clear as possible. Message me if there is any further info you need.
