Description

On offer....the best sounding (Stereo) version of The Beatles irrefutable psychedelic masterpiece, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' as released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFQR 1-100) as part of their UHQR series pressings in September of 1982.  If you know this album well it only takes one listen to know that what I'm saying is true.  But don't take my word for it....here's what the late George Martin stated in his 1994 book, 'With A Little Help From My Friends' (The Making of Sgt. Pepper):
"Everybody had to be terribly quiet. If anybody were to have coughed, it would have sounded like an explosion. As it is, on the special Ultra High Quality Recording edition of Sgt. Pepper, you can hear the Abbey Road air-conditioning system purring away in the background as Geoff [Emerick] opens the volume faders to the stops at the very end of the die-away. That's how we got the famous piano chord."
This remark goes to the incredible detail heard on this pressing.  Martin does not mention the 1st UK....nor the first U.S, Japanese, German, Nimbus Cut, etc. or even the regular MFSL vinyl pressing. He specifically mentions the UHQR pressing. Will anyone dare to contest the word of the late great Beatles producer, George Martin?  If you are properly set-up with decent speakers, amp, and your turntable is well calibrated....you will be blown away.  The bass, percussion, separation of instruments, the soundstage ...is astounding. Essentially, this record is like a mirror of the UK Stereo Original Master Tape. Nothing can touch this pressing.

The Box: Excellent.....the top and bottom lids show some minor wear....scuffs and bruising....nothing really offensive. The corners are not torn or ripped away like on some opened copies commonly found on ebay.  The spine has a couple of dented areas (please see photos) but that's about it.  A very solid and fairly clean example.

Even under very strong light you have to strain to see anything significant.  Please make allowances for the unavoidable bit of static and/or dust "tick" one might hear in a couple of the quietest segments of the album. Believe me, this record plays wonderfully and sounds truly spectacular.
