The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Original Mono LP.

PMC 7027 – Original Black and Yellow Parlophone label.

An excellent+   UK first press copy in 100% original condition in Mono.

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent+ condition, the full laminate sleeve has a really excellent shine. The colours on the sleeve are full and fresh, it features the original exposed flipback gatefold sleeve. The opening edges are excellent.  This sleeve does not have the usual creases and wear, the edges and the corners of the sleeve are clean and crisp.  The spine looks like new, it is really white with no laminate flaking, the text on the spine is really clear. The only slight fault of this sleeve is a 40mm scratch to the laminate on the front, it appears half way down the wax work figure of George Harrison,  although it doesn’t really notice. There are some very light creases here and there.

The original DARK green cardboard cut-out is present and is in near excellent condition.

INNER SLEEVE: is the original RED/WHITE psychedelic sleeve, it is in  excellent+ condition,  the red and white colours of the sleeve are full and fresh with no fading, the whites are really fresh and white.  There is no creasing,    there is about 70mm of rubbing to the bottom edge of the sleeve.  

VINYL: is in near excellent+ condition, it is of the ‘heavy’, thick set vinyl, it is dark and shiny, the audio is very good, it plays really well all the way through with NO jumps or skips.  The matrix no’s. are XEX 637-1 and the Stampers are: ‘3’ and ‘RH’ and XEX 638-1 and the Stampers are ‘3’ and ‘AR’.  There are a few light wispy marks to the playing surfaces. This record is usual in the fact that it has a very sharp outer edge to it.

THE LABELS:  are in excellent+ condition,  the colours of the  labels are clean and fresh,  there is a  ‘KT’ embossed onto  Side Two.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

+  or  – :  indicates a grading in between categories.
