The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. Their enormous popularity emerged as "Beatlemania", and in 1964 they had become international stars leading the "British Invasion" into the US market. " Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is their eighth studio album, released in 1967 spending 27 weeks at #1 in the UK, and 15 weeks at #1 in the US. It won "Album of The Year", the first rock LP to receive this honor. A fictional Sgt. Pepper Band would give The Beatles' freedom to experiment musically. In August 1966, The Beatles' retired from touring. Knowing they would not have to perform live tracks, they adopted an experimental approach. It has become one of the best-selling albums in history. First!
I bought this new. Played it twice.
I just finished playing the beautiful clear yellow record with a darkened birthmark (see pictures) and it is a very clean pressing.
No crackling However there is an occasional pop.
That’s because it’s a record. : )
I have many more copies of this album and I'm selling a few from my personal collection. This is the first, many more to come.
