THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This UK 1st MONO pressing dates from intial June 1967 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027
The side 1 label has the seldom seen extra dot within in the 'SOLD IN.U.K.' text.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 2/APA & 2/ATA
Vinyl weight: 143g
Housed in a fully laminated UK printed gatefold mono cover, complete with red/white inner & unusued cut out sheet.
This copy comes with an original plastic cover from manager Brian Epstein's 'NEMS' store in Liverpool.
CONDITION
Disc: EXCELLENT
This well-looked after example has excellent unworn sound quality and is overall free from any signficiant audible faults or wear. Apart from the usual light trace of background on 'She's Leaving Home' (present on 99% of all mono copies), there really is little to fault. Visually both playing surfaces are clean, glossy and unworn with the only blemish being a 2cm non-feelable line on side 2.
A clean, glossy & fully intact example with vibrant, unfaded colours and minimal storagwear. The front panel bears two light 'thumbnail' wrinkles, but there is little else in the way of wear on this exmaple. The inside of the gatefold is immaculate with no damage to either of the flipover flaps. The rear panel has an unavoidable light disc impression from storage but the spine is fully laminated/worded and all seams are unstressed & unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with a light disc impression but no writing, tears or seam splits.
NEMS Cover: FAIR/GOOD
General wrinkling and a 7cm tear on the rear as well as a couple of other small scrapes.
