All records listed are in no less than EX condition (see above for actual grading). In some cases I may list a very rare record at a lesser grading but this will be described in detail. Brief description of item

Here this listing is an unbelievable example of the Beatles last ever mono version of the Sgt Pepper album. Not a re-press, but what I believe is an original last mono version from 1967, pressed just before they stopped making this album in mono. The rare one  box mono version black/silver EMI came out just around the same time as these were being put through the final production stages. Then that was it for the mono!! I have included both sides 1 & 2 for your listening pleasure.

The audio is perfect & without ANY flaws on BOTH sides!! a true pleasure to listen to, and that's because I have hardly played this. The actual record is spotless. No warping or ingrained dust....A real gem to see like this today & it sounds like it looks - PERFECT. Don't believe it? then just hit play on the player that's embedded in this listing. This is as the record plays without any hint of any added production editing etc. You can hear side 1 all the way through & 90% of side 2. There are no issues after the player runs out, just not enough space to record the whole L.P. But this will hopefully give you good idea to what's on offer with the vinyl part.

You probably don't need me to tell you about this L.P. Or how RARE it is etc. But in this playing state/condition offered & as a mono recording with XEX 637 -1 & XEX 638 - 1. Garrod & Lofthouse jacket, Gramophone Co LTD rims, it's simply not going to get better than this one offered. Recorded in 1967 & MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. There is no sold in the U.K. Text. The fools inner is not present (I can't remember it being here) apparently the inner was not made/included for these last mono pressings, so a plain white with patent numbers was supplied. Patent # 1, 125, 555 MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. This was the inner that came with the record, and not replacement.  

Included is the card cut out inner is present & unused in TOP shape. Comes with the plain white inner dust protector. I store this record outside of the main cover & inside a plastic wallet, to avoid any possible damage. Your cover is in EXCELLENT shape, fully laminated with no handwritten names, loosening of the flipback tabbed inside & still actually creaks when opened with that NEW sound! for a record cover gatefold ORIGINAL from 1967 that's unheard of today. The spine is intact but has some wear just from being opened or closed still no split or record push. I believe this is the thick spined version. The clarifoil laminate is fully intact & very glossy. An absolutely beautiful example here. Front is immaculate as is the inside. As I say... This still creaks when opened. Not suprising.....I have stored this L.P. For years and had a stereo version which was a playing copy. This mono has had about TWO plays (not including the test plays) for it's whole life. Comes from a loving home & stunning on-going collection of ORIGINAL early 1st pressings from the day. I have sold a lot so far to many happy & delighted buyers. And more importantly pack very well. Note : please see the type of custom box mailers & method used below in the 'payment & shipping' box.

The actual vinyl is a complete gem. It's so nice, not one single mark on the record, no fingerprints, needle thrashing, or nail scuffs, no warping of the disc, no pops, ticks, sticks, jumps, crackle, background noise, distortion or ANY other kind of thing that could be considered as a negative to list. Fully glossy and has NO scratched out deep or light grooves. Under intense illumination you will even struggle to see any hairlines, I have checked this properly but already know that before listing, it's going to be FLAWLESS! as Its just not been used/over played for years.

Both labels are on both sides in EXCELLENT shape. A sign that again tells anyone it's hardly seen the light of day for decades. They state The Gramophone Co LTD around the rims. Are in near perfect shape with the slightest of age around the centre pin holes but that's being very critical on my part. All text is highly bold in print & 100% fully legible. XEX 637-1/XEX 638-1 matrix numbers & 1967 as the year. Stampers around the sides of the outer rims are...Side 1 - P T D the T is crossed out with an X & the letter T sits above it. The other side - Side B what I can make out M O D. Also # 7 to the left of one side & # 2 the left of the other side both at 9 o'clock.

Record will be packed in a tough custom box DEFENDAPACK mailer as shown in the photos below. The mailer has a locking tab. The record will be placed outside its cover and inside a brand new polythene protector between two card stiffeners and sealed at the top with fragile marked masking tape. Items are labelled "handle with care".

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
