Description
I am selling more BEATLES and BEATLES-RELATED LPs (extras) from my collection. So, please check my other auctions, too.
In this auction:
· “SOMETHING NEW” by the Beatles
· This LP is Capitol Records ST 2108.
· It is a STEREO LP
· It was issued July 20, 1964.
· The Cover is a Capitol-marked cover constructed of cardboard with front slick pasted on. “Capitol” is printed on the spine.
· The COVER is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION. Only 1-inch of some flaking on the bottom seam near the spine and some slight aging/foxing of the white rear cover keep me from grading the cover higher.
· Due to the primarily black cover, this is a tough LP cover to find in nice and clean condition without wear on the black areas. As you can see, this FRONT COVER is VERY NICE and does not have that wear. The primarily white rear cover has light signs of aging/foxing.
· The #5 is printed on the rear of the cover which indicates that this cover was produced at Capitol’s Los Angeles (LA) plant. Usually the pressing plant number is printed on the rear cover at the lower right corner. However, on this LP the #5 is printed near the lower left corner under the image and song track listing of the mini “Meet The Beatles” LP advertisement.
· There is also an Asterisk(*) stamped in the trail-off which confirms that this vinyl was pressed at Capitol’s Los Angeles plant. Therefore, this VINYL and COVER are CORRECTLY PAIRED with both from Capitol’s Los Angeles (LA) plant.
· NOTE: Some sellers will switch vinyl and covers in order to create a near mint item to sell. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover and vinyl for this pressing/issue.
· The VINYL is in NICE VG+ CONDITION with a few very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs.
· This LP comes with its ORIGINAL blue Capitol inner paper sleeve which is the CORRECT inner sleeve for this Capitol pressing.
It’s a GREAT West Coast-produced Beatles LP to add to your vinyl collection.
