In this auction:

• “SONGS, PICTURES AND STORIES OF THE FABULOUS BEATLES” LP by The Beatles

• This is Vee Jay Records VJLP 1092.

• It was released in 1964.

• This LP is a fancy repackaging of “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES”. Vee Jay did not press separate records for this album. Instead, factories placed “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” (VJ 1062) discs into the album’s unique and colorful 2/3-cut gatefold cover (VJ 1092).

• As you probably know, Vee Jay, for a short period of time in 1963-1964, held the rights in the U.S. to a handful of Beatles songs that the record company recycled several times by selling the same LP in different covers. The buying public quickly realized that they were not acquiring any new Beatles’ material in each Vee Jay album they purchased. Instead, they were buying basically the same “recycled” Beatles’ tunes when they purchased “Introducing the Beatles”, “Songs, Pictures & Stories of the Fabulous Beatles” and “The Beatles vs The Four Seasons” (the Beatles’ disc in that 2-record set being another repackaging of “Introducing the Beatles”).

• The VERY UNIQUE FEATURE of this Vee Jay LP is that the LEFT-SIDE FRONT FLAP OF THE GATEFOLD COVER IS 2/3 THE SIZE OF THE RIGHT SIDE POCKET HOLDING THE RECORD.

• The COVER is in VERY NICE VG CONDITION OVERALL. The front cover images, rear cover images and images inside the gatefold are VERY NICE with VERY LIGHT/MINIMAL WEAR. There is minimal wear on the black areas of the 2/3 front cover flap and rear cover. Many copies of this LP tend to show wear on the black areas. (Please check out the images and see for yourself!) The COVER is really quite clean. There is heavier wear on the two corners at the top and bottom of the spine resulting in “bald” corners. There is lighter wear on the other corners and a very small split in the middle of the inner spine inside the gatefold cover (see images). There is some moderate flaking on about 5 ½ -inches of the top seam and along the length of the bottom seam.

• The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none of which are “feel-able”). The vinyl has VERY NICE GLOSS!

• The vinyl in this auction has Black Labels with Rainbow Color Bands and VJ Brackets Logo at the top of each label.

• This LP comes with its original VJ Records inner paper sleeve that has a 2 ½ -inch side split and some tattering at the top opening.

It’s a NICE ORIGINAL VEE JAY LP with 2/3 CUT GATEFOLD COVER for your vinyl collection!
