Incredibly rare collector's copy of one of the re-packaged versions of The Beatles Introducing the Beatles: Songs, Pictures & Stories, original 1st US Mono Release Version 2 with an ultra-rare "SOUVENIR OF THEIR APPEARANCE AT FOREST HILLS STADIUM, NEW YORK – AUGUST 28-29, 1964" concert banner at the bottom of the front cover. The copies of the album with this large black concert banner promo sticker were sold exclusively at record stores located in the concert venue cities. This copy is from the band's appearance at the "Forest Hills Stdium" in New York, NY on August 28-29, 1964. Original thick cardboard unique ¾, 8-inch fold-over gatefold cover (front flap of the cover is shorter than the back flap). This very early 1st issue comes with an original Vee-Jay Records "Other Significant Albums of Interest on Vee-Jay Records" inner sleeve with a white background containing 25 color photos of other Vee-Jay album releases on each side. Original Mono Vee-Jay VJLP 1062 / 63-3402 catalog number deep groove 2.75' diameter pressing ring Vee-Jay brackets logo labels with the centered song titles and credits along with the "Microgroove" and "Long Playing" banners. The labels contain a misprint indicating the author credit for the “Chains” track as “Coffin-King” as oppose to the correct one “Goffin-King”. The vinyl was pressed by American Record Pressing plant in Owosso, MI containing the “ARP” plant identifier machine stamped in italics as well the very early 1st “-A1 / -A1” matrix numbers. The mastering was done by Audiomatrix Inc., New York as identified by the “AudioMatrix” machine stamp. The runout grooves also contain the manufacture date stamp "1-23-64" on both sides as well as the “URJ” stamp. The full matrix numbers are as follows Side 1: 63-3402-1 2-6-64 URJ A1 ARP AudioMatrix; Side 2 – 63-3403-1 URJ A1 1-23-64 ARP AudioMatrix.

I grade the cover as Strong Very Good Plus. It's very clean and doesn't have any writing, splits or residue, but does have some light shelf wear on the front and back along with a hint of ring wear  at the top and bottom of the back cover. The gatefold interior is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any tears or splits. The rigid spine has a fully readable text. The original Vee-Jay inner sleeve is in Excellent condition. The beautiful vinyl retains its factory gloss and is graded somewhere between Strong Very Good Plus and Excellent Minus having only a few barely visible non-feelable surface scuffs. I'm sure that the majority of sellers would grade the vinyl of this copy as simply Excellent. The very clean labels are in Near Mint Minus condition and are completely wear- and scuff-free without having any spindle marks. The vinyl sounds great only having some very light occasional static, which most likely could get reduced or go away if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
