Description

On December 2, 1978, “The Beatles Collection” – catalogue no. BC 13, was released. The set includes all 12 of the original UK studio albums in stereo plus an additional album of “Rarities”.  The records are contained in a large blue box with a lid that flips open and has gold embossing on the front cover.

For the most part, the records in the set that I am selling are in near mint condition.  Most play with little or no surface noise throughout. The exceptions are as follows:  With the Beatles – I heard one tick on side 2 between tracks; Sgt. Pepper – has a few ticks on side two; The White Album has some ticks at the beginning of side 1 record 1 and there is something that looks like a ridge of glue along the lower edge of the front cover; Yellow Submarine has two small scratches on “It’s all too much” although they were not audible to me.  These are the only scratches that I noticed on these records. Some of the covers have some minor wear but there are no seam splits and are mostly in excellent condition.  The blue box is in very nice condition with only minor wear along the bottom edge. There is an additional light blue insert which lists the tracks on each record.  I have stored this inside the blue box. Sgt. Pepper includes the insert and The White Album includes the poster and the 4 photos of The Beatles.

The jackets are not laminated. The individual record catalogue numbers are:

Please Please Me – Parlophone PCS 3042

With the Beatles – Parlophone PCS 3045

A Hard Day’s Night – Parlophone PCS 3058

Beatles for Sale – Parlophone PCS 3062

Help! – Parlophone PCS 3071

Rubber Soul – Parlophone PCS 3075

Revolver – Parlophone PCS 7009

Sgt. Pepper – Parlophone PCS 7027

The White Album – Apple PCS 7067-8 (2 LPs) – plain white jacket – no number and no embossed “The Beatles”

Yellow Submarine – Apple PCS 7070

Abbey Road – Apple PCS 7088

Let it Be – Apple PCS 7096

Rarities – Parlophone PSLP 261 – “Sampler album not for sale” printed diagonally in the upper left corner of the rear cover.

Please see the one photo for the list of tracks on each album.

When I first bought this set a number of years ago, I cleaned the records with a VPI record cleaner, treated them with LAST record preservative, placed them in rice-paper inner sleeves, and then placed the records in individual plastic outer sleeves.  The original inner sleeves have also been retained in the jackets. More recently, the records were cleaned with an Audio Desk ultrasonic record cleaner and demagnetized with a Furutech record demagnetizer. I then replayed each record. The records are from my personal collection.  I did not store them in the box but rather in individual plastic outer sleeves to protect the jackets so that the condition of the box would be preserved. The records will be shipped out of the jackets to prevent any seam splits during shipping and will be placed in a separate inner box from the blue box. The blue box will also be placed within a separate inner box with bubble wrap.  Both cartons will be placed within a third larger carton to further protect the records, jackets, and blue box.
